I Am Blessed!

Have you ever thought about what God has done in your life? Frequently when things get too hectic and everyone you meet seems to grumble about the problems in their lives, we tend to agree that things are pretty bad. In addition to our own troubles, our national leaders need prayer, the newspapers indicate crime is on the rise and the divorce rate is climbing.
We have two choices: we can sit and fret about the world situation and how bad life is treating us by having a pity party…. or we can pray, change our attitude and look at our blessings.
It seems that every year God shows me more of His love through the blessings He has given me. I am blessed that I have a loving family. All four of my daughters have had to struggle with different situations in their lives, yet God had strengthened each of them and has brought them into a closer walk with Him.
We all enjoy getting together from time to time to catch up on the news in each others lives. We share what each of their families are involved in including both the joys and the sorrows, and when it is time for everyone to leave we pray for each family until we meet again.
God has also blessed me with good health and a caring attitude toward those who have health problems. I am extremely blessed when I visit a nursing home. I have come to know many of the residents and when they have problems they frequently ask me to pray for them. The hard part is watching them suffer. But, I believe that God knows their needs and is helping them cope with their situations.
I am blessed to be a part of a church that preaches the Word of God, and cares about everyone's needs. No matter what happens I know that I can count on the many people that make up the body of Christ at Christian Life Center in Herrin. I strayed in darkness most of my life. Stumbling and falling into a sinful pit of gloom which I created for myself, but by the grace of God, I have been taken from that life of destruction and have been adopted into the family of God. What a glorious blessing I received the day I asked Jesus into my life. As it says in Psalm 144:15b, “How blessed are the people whose God is Lord.” Don't let the problems of the world overpower you. Change the way you are living and your attitude. If you let Jesus control your life you will find that you too will say that you have been truly blessed.
